Colling is not a name I've seen in Swedish records but I checked a database and found this man. Could he be the father of your Bill?

Emibas CD:

Emibas was made from registrations in the Swedish parish to go to a foreign country. It is about 75% complete.

Bonde = farmer.

Colling, Bengt
Bonde (married man)

b. 5/11/1853 in Njutånger, Gävleborgs län (Hälsingland)

Emigrated 10/3/1887
from Forsa, Harmånger, Gävleborgs län (Hälsingland)
to Anoka, Minnesota, USA

Source: Household Examination Roll, p. 39

Emibas migration file ID: Harmånger X 1887 002

Un-normalized versions:

Country of destination: Nordamerika

The spelling of Colling might have been Americanized, however. Tell more about Bill's father.

Judy
