Colliers of MA - Vol 2
The second volume of “The Colliers of Massachusetts” will be published February 15, 2009. I am presently completing the index and illustrations. Volume One was published in 2004, covering the first five American generations. Volume Two covers only the sixth generation, with minimal information on the seventh.
To my knowledge, these two volumes contain the first full treatment of the descendants of Thomas (1) and Susannah Collier, who arrived in Hingham, Massachusetts in 1635. Including names of the 7th generation children, and their spouses where known, over 2,500 Collier descendants and spouses are covered in these books. Of this total, approximately 190 are of the “Collier” surname – primarily of Massachusetts and Maine origin – and over 100 are surnamed “Collyer,” of New Jersey originThese descend from Moses (2) Collier, who went to Woodbridge, New Jersey late in life. Lorings, descended from Deacon Thomas Loring, another early Hingham settler, and as well as Thomas and Susannah Collier, number about 215.
I invite those who are interested in these families to visit

There you find an index of the individuals covered in the Collier genealogy, a preview of Volume Two, and a number of illustrations, maps, and other items on the family.
I particularly invite correspondence from those who have helped me in this 10-year endeavor, and who haven’t been in touch for a while. We’re getting there !!
