samuel collier of Jamestown-Surry county
Has anyone done any research on Samuel collier of Jamestown?
he was John smith's page and was in Jamestown in 1608- Smith sent hime to the south side of the river, (where surry county is)to learn the Indian language-he died in 1624-shot by his own men-Smith was from Lincolshire-those doing research on the Surry collier's (Thomas-John-Edward)
know the connection between the Sowerby's and John Flower's(to whom he owed money)- i have seen documentation that John Flowers was from Lincolnshire, as well as the Sowerby's
and there are Collier's there also-Is it possible that Samuel collier is related to our collier's and that possibly
our bunch is fromWiloughby, Lincolnshire area as John smith was? I know it is purely circumstanial but intesting. maybe Samuel is the key to our colliers
