New Haven, Westville, Woodbridge Conn Collier, Colier, Colyer family
Trying to determine origins of following family.Found them on 1850, 1860, 1870 (& possibly 1880) census:

(all b. in Conn)
1860 - New Haven Co., Woodbridge (Westville P.O.)

(waiting for complete info on 1870, but here's what I have so far)
1870 - New Haven Co., New Haven city, ward 4
Edward Collier, 52, laborer (note 1st name now EDWARD)
Maria
Edwin
George
Thomas
(all b. in Conn)
Note:
Daughter Harriet (should be 10-12 yrs old) is not listed.
Daughter Maria S. married in 1864 to George F. Reynolds in Southbury, Conn.
There is a Joseph Collier, 13, working as farmhand in Southbury, living in household of Henry Wilcox, 33.May be the missing son. Also Southbury connection again.
Daughter Julia A. missing, but probably married as well.
1880 Census - New Haven Co., New Haven city
Edward Collyer, 64, fisherman, b. VT (EDWARD again)
Maria, wife, 67, nurse, b. CT
Edwin, son, laborer, 26, b. CT
This may be the same family, ages are off and father reportedly born in VT instead of CT. But parents and son's names and location make me suspicious. This info also from LDS transcribed disk - haven't seen actual census record.
Does anyone know of this family or where in Conn they came from? Thanks in advance for any help. -Suzanne
