Thanks to Wade's idea about checking out Haynesville, I did a census search on Ancestry.com for all Colliers in Aroostook County, ME. I turned up several -- all on the Orient Plantation (of which Haynesville was originally a part) between 1840-1860. Sadly, the census index for the State of Maine is not yet complete for 1870 or later. Further, nearly the entire 1890 U. S. Census was destroyed in a fire in the national archives. Following is the list of Colliers (of any spelling) that turned up:

Since they are so concentrated in one small area, I'm willing to bet that they're all related to each other. So, I took a stab at the 1860's, since there were only 2 of them and got lucky on the first try. Here is a transcription of the 2 Colliers that turned up in the 1860 Census:

Wade is quite correct: these are definitely not our family, but it appears that this is definitely YOURS! It appears that they immigrated to the USA sometime in the 1830's.
For a further resource on your line, please go to msg nrs. 1163 and 1205 in this (Collier) GenForum, both posted by Judy Huskey in early 2000. It appears that she has a little more background on these Colliers and, if her listed email address is still active, you should contact her. Best of luck in your Quest!
