Have you considered other spellings? My GG grandfather's name is spelled Colyer and also Colyar on his marriage certificate. Then in some censuses it's spelled Coliar,Collier, etc. My GG grandfather is Thomas J Collier m. to Mary Bails/Bales. They are in 1850 census, Bradley Co,TN. The first Collier in our line that is in US is James Collier m. Susannah Dugan/Dougan. James Collier was b. in county Donegal,Ireland and settled in Paxton township,PA. His son John Collier was in Revolutionary War for the colonies. Some of their children married into the Johnston family. This line of Colliers were Scotch/Irish.
