Hola Fatima,
My Colina family left Spain for Cuba in the early part of the 1800s. I don't know when, though. I know we had cousins there because my grandparents had a relative go to Spain in the 1970s and brought back some souveniors. They always told me that the relative had gone to see the Colinas in our home of "Caldas de Oviedo" and in "La Coruna" in Northern Spain.
I have birth certs from Cuba that provide names going back to the 1840s and even have one that shows a witness for my ggrandparents who was from "Villadolid". I am told that person was a relative as well.
I desperately want to find something in Spain and given the political situation in Cuba, I can't research there.
Any connections? Any suggestions? Do you know the origins of the Colina name? Anything at all.
English or Spanish responses are welcome. Whatever is easiest for you.
Irene
