Does anyone have information about Colgates from Southwest Ohio. I have an ancestor named Jeanetta Colgate who married a Civil War vet named Epraim Burgess. They lived in Franklin County Ohio, but the 1880 Census states that Jeannetta was from Ohio. Also, some of her children lived most of their lives in Ohio. She had what I think is a nephew named Oscar Colgate that lived in Ohio too. The census also indicates that Jeanetta was born about 1840/41. Her children were Margaret, Clarence, Mositer Benjamin, and Eugene. Thanks for any help.
