Hi Mary! My husband's Colemans are from Nicholas Coleman b. 1731 Scotland and settled in Indiana County, PA. There is another one by the same name, but he was actually German - and the name was Kohlman and he lived in Brothers Valley. They both served in the Rev. War so it was confusing at first, but I just followed the children back through the various lines and VOILA -
my Nicholas is from Scotland!

Another name which is hard to trace - Allen - or Allyn or Alline, or a dozen more vairations - and so many with the first name Samuel! But I finally went back through the children to my Samuel Allen, one of the founders of Windsor, CT
and from "the west of England" on the ship Mary and John. He is the only
one I can actually pinpoint the name of the ship....there is actually a website
for the Ship Mary and John...that helped me a lot!

I too have had various name and email changes, but like you, I keep checking them....also on other GENFORUM sites - and WORLDCONNECT also -
I think they are finally beginning to merge all of my postings, which helps!

Let's keep helping each other - what a joy!
