James Wiley Coleman

Hello! I'm researching my Coleman line and can't seem to get very far on my grandfather's side since it veers off from Coleman. I don't have much information on this side but any direction one may be able to point me would be greatly appreciated...

My grandfather is J.C. Coleman (his name is actually J.C.- this does not stand for anything).
b. 11/5/abt 1922-- He lied about his age in order to enlist so there is a bit of confusion of his actual birth year.

His father is James Wiley Coleman.
This is the tricky part- James was born James Wiley Chisholm and adopted by his mother's 2nd husband (Coleman). We're not sure about J.C.'s mother's name-it may have been Greene. James' biological father (Chisholm) is (at least according to the passed down history) decendent of the Choctaw tribe so records have been pretty difficult to come across.

So I'm hoping someone has come across this branch..
Thanks,
Kristin
