Rick,
Thank you so much for writing.Everything was going so well back then, and then a "road block" with Grizzell Whitlock, will 1759 Goochland, VA.
I returned that year from VA via Raleigh, NC, state archives and JUST HAPPENED TO FIND A COLEMAN WORK, sorry, lost the author, but remember the text, who said loosely that the "Grizzell Christian name means Coleman."
Having just seen what you have re Gland docs, you can imagine my up-graded interest despite burned out King William!
I, too, came to same conclusion as you.Independently.One reason is::::Someway, back then, I computed the ca. birthdate of my 4g William Whitlock to have been 1739-1742.That was a plus-minus some kind of thing.
I have NEVER seen a 1705 ca birthyear for his mother, Grizzell. This biologically works, just as I thought.
There is a Whitlock association that comes out of Canada I think.THEY also came up with Coleman, independently of me and probably you.
I have written some of those "pro" Whitlock researchers, and some say Grizzell's husband was a James Whitlock. How in the world they know is beyond me.
I would like to share/compare with you.I semi-retired last July 31 at 54, but 2 ETEX community colleges asked me to teach U. S. History. In the process, I moved 40 miles, so to make a long story short, all my gene files are in boxes.
I don't know if you have that Coleman book in the Raleigh archives. You probably do.If not, we can find it.I thought it was really good, being a Coleman novice (and still) at the time!
I may get to go to Ala, GA, maybe Charleston Monday--gene trip between semesters.I am sched full time this summer.
Hope to hear from you again.
