I'm better organized this evening. Actually, inthe Allen County Ohio Births Vol 1 of Book 2, 1890 thru 1900, there is a male child born to Lindon Cole and Mary Swinehart. The dte of birth given is 19 Apr 1896. I checked the 1900 census and see Mara E. with her parents, George W. and Margaret A. with a grandson to the head of the house listed as Rola M. Cole. Then in 1910 George and Margaret Swinehart are listed but Mary and her child are not living with them.
I did find a Roma H. Cole listed in the 1920 census living in Lima Ward 4, Allen, Ohio, birth year abt 1895. He is listed as the Head and as himself and is single. He is 25 years old.
I haven't been able to find Mary and John Holzfoster but did find them listed in the Lima Directory for 1901-1902. In the 1902-1903 Lima Directory John is only listed.
The weird thing is that in the 1900 census, John Holzfoster and Mary are living together and a stepdaughter, Cassie Cole, is living in the home. The stepdaughter is the relationship to the head of the houseold. Along with a daughter Hester Holzfoster and a John Haase who is a brother-in-law. Cassie is throwing me off.
I realize that I need to dig further to find out who Cassie was but her birth year is 1888 and Lindon and Mary were not married until 1895. I am assuming that information for Cassie may not be correct as Lindon would have only been 10 years old in 1888.
I do believe that Rola was the male child born to Lindon and Mary Swinehart and yes, I do need to do some more digging but thought I'd list a query as someone else might see it and be a descendant.
Well, the search for Rola continues.............
Thanks for your help!
