Was his name Albert? In 1900 Elwood & 1910 Elwood Laura is consistant that her mother was b OH but she has father b IN or OH, married 1879, had 5 children, 3 still living, Laura b Jun 1859 IN. In 1900 & 1910 Albert b Aug 1855 with parents b IN

I think this may be Laura....the only Summers family in the area

1860 Monroe, Madison IN:

Samuel Summers 39 OH VA VA
Susannah 41 OH VA VA
Nancy 17 IN
Mary E 20 IN
Lewis 13 IN
Williams 9 IN
John 7 IN
Sophia 11 IN
LARALY 1 IN

In 1870 Monroe, Madison IN I find her with the same parents and brother John:

Samuel "Sammies" 50 OH
"Savannah" 51 OH
John 17 IN
LAURA 11 IN

A look at the actual census page - looks more to me like Summers & Susannah so I think this was misread

Albert & Laura are age 22 & 20 in 1880 Monroe, Madison

The only Albert b 1855 IN I find is in Dudley, Henry IN 1870:

Perry P Cole 41 IN
Elsey 41 IN
ALBERT 14 IN
Myron 10 IN
Nora 6 IN
Laura 4 IN

The family is also in Dudley in 1860 but by 1880 they have moved to Monroe, Madison so it's possible they moved in the 1870s & that's how Albert met Laura?

1880 Monroe, Madison

Perry P Cole 51 IN
Elsa 51 IN
Miriam 20 IN
Leora 16 IN
Laura 14 IN
Laura Sutton 73 - mother-in-law

By 1900 Elsie has died and Perry re-married in 1892 Martha unknown - in 1900 & 1910 they are living in Alexandria, Madison & Perry is in a directory for Elwood 1889-1890 IN Deaths - Perry P died 22 Aug 1910 in Alexandria, age 81

In 1900 Elwood the sons are Victor G Cole b Jun 1859; Orth O b Jan 1882; Zola G b Jul 1893 (this might be Glen?)

Glen Wagner Cole filled out his WWII draft 25 Apr 1942 and says he was b 14 Jul 1893 (like Zola G in the census) in Elwood & he was residing in Akron, Summit OH at the time with nearest relative Dorothy D, working for Wagoner & Marsh Shoe Company, 72" tall, 180lbs, brown hair, brown eyes; OH Deaths - d 30 Jun 1958 Elyria Memorial Hospital, Elyria, Lorain, OH, age 62

As long as I was looking: WWI dated 12 Sep 1942 Victor Garfield Cole b 17 Sep 1880 Madison IN, farmer, nearest relative Grace Marie Cole, tall, med build, gray eyes, light hair; WWII on 27 Apr 1942, living in Elwood, 6' tall, 175 lbs, gray eyes, brown hair, nearest relative Waldo Cole of Elwood (who is Waldo?)

Orth Otto Cole WWI on 12 Sep 1918, nearest relly Laura V Cole; WWII on 27 Apr 1942 b 26 Jan 1883 in Elwood, working for Dietzen's Bakery in Elwood, 6'2 1/2", 165 lbs, blue eyes, brn hair, nearest relative Victor G Cole

A look at Ancestry says he was Albert Morrison Cole s/o Perry Pease Cole b 03 Nov 1829 Bentonville IN & Elsie Sutton d 13 Aug 1891 IN; s/o Andrew Morrison Bryan Cole 1804 VA-1887 IN & Mahala Gard 1810 OH-1882 IN; s/o Samuel Cole 1767 PA- 1849 IN & Catherine Bryan 1760 VA- 1844 IN; s/o Phillip Cole 1730 PA or Germany & Susannah Egle 1732 Zurich, Switzerland - 1796 VA ....no sources for any of this tho, except a few census records.

I hope this is your family and that some of this may help a bit. Vicky in AZ
