Cole Family Genealogy Forum

I am searching for answers to my family tree. I would love to have documentation through the Revolutionary War, so that I might be able to complete a DAR application.
The story that I have pierced together so far is; Frederick C. Cole, he was born 22 May 1835 in Hornellsville, Steuben County, New York. He is found in the 1850 Federal Census living with William D. Burdick, wife Hannah and their six children. Interesting fact; the family were carpenters, and on Frederick's death certificate as well as his Civil War Pension application it is listed as his occupation as a carpenter. He is found in Cook County, Illinois in 1861 where he enlisted as a private on 1 Aug 1861 into Company K, 59th Infantry Regiment, Illinois. He recieved a disability discharge on 16 Feb 1863 and was mustered out in Detroit, Michigan. He married Elsie Jane Parker on 13 Mar 1864 in Amsden, Montcalm County Michigan. The 1870 and 1880 Federal Census has him living in Fairplain, Montcalm County where he lived until they show up on the 1894 Michigan State and 1900 Federal Census Living in Edmore Village, Montcalm County. They are found in the 1910 Federal Census in Greenville, Ward 2, Montcalm County, Michigan. They moved after the census to the "Old Soldiers Home" in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan. He died 3 Aug 1912 and is buried in Green Cemetery, in lot 30 in the older part of the cemetery, east side closest to the church. His death certificate states that his father was Solomon Cole, born in New York, mother unknown. In the Federal Census’ his father is always described as being born in New York and his mother from Massachusetts. Frederick and Elsie Jane (Parker) Cole had eight children; 1. Ella Eleanor Cole, born 22 January 1865, Montcalm County, Michigan, died unknown, she married Homer Eugene Blodgett; 2. Hiram Cole, born 10 September 1866, Montcalm County, Michigan, died prior to 1870, no marriage found. 3. James Henry Cole, 18 September 1868, Bushnell, Montcalm County, Michigan, died 9 August 1925, Greenville, Montcalm, Michigan, he married Emma J. Parker, a cousin. 4. Orin Daniel “Bert” Cole, born 13 October 1869, Bushnell, Montcalm County, Michigan, died 14 Oct 1928, Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan. He married Anna Rebecca Zimmerman. 5. Huldah Udelley Cole, born 18 July 1871, Renolds, Montcalm County, Michigan, died 10 December 1911. She married first Jerry C. Brown, second Francis M. Coleman, and finally James F. Ovenhouse. 6. Calvin H. Cole, born 18 October 1875, Montcalm County, Michigan, died 15 April 1919, Montcalm County, Michigan. He married Gracie May Storey. 7. Miloe Frederick Cole, born 16 October 1876, Montcalm, Michigan, died 12 February 1882, Greenville, Montcalm County, Michigan. He was never married. 8. Florence Elsie May Cole, born 19 Jul 1878, Montcalm County, Michigan, died unknown. She married Lumon E. Cole. Researching Steuben County, I find only one Solomon Cole. Thank you in advance.
