COLES IN THE CIVIL WAR
Posted by: Randall Stacey (ID *****9490) Date: April 04, 2009 at 21:13:22

I am searching for any information on William (middle name Carrell/Correll, nickname "Carl") Cole, b. 1825 in Virginia (maybe the region that is now the state of West Virginia), d. 1879, New Roe, Kentucky. He would have been about 36 when the war started, was married to Sarah M. Ramsey (1835, TN-1905, KY), and was the father of my great-grandfather William Morgan Cole (1865 KY- 1940 TN, married to Martha B. White). There were a lot of William or W. Coles from the south central Kentucky-north central Tennessee region, which is why my search has stalled. Also info on this line even farther back would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Randall Stacey
