Hi - I was hoping that my fellow researchers out there and/or anyone who may hold the key to this mystery may be able to help me. I am looking for any information that someone might hold on a Hannah Roebuck and family (Husband’s and Children etc) who we believe was born about 1735. From what I have found she seems to have been married twice – Once to a William Waterhouse and once to a Joseph Coldwell. William, we believe, was from Bradfield, Yorkshire and then lived in Sheffield at some stage in his life and born about 1691. Joseph, we believe, lived and died in Thurgoland Cheesebottom. The story goes that Hannah married Joseph after becoming a widow when William died, however there seems to have been children born to Hannah and William that muddies this theory due to dates they where born comes after the date that we goes as follows: William Waterhouse born 1757, Thomas Waterhouse born 1757 in Sheffield, Joseph Waterhouse born 1759, Robert Waterhouse born 1764 in Sheffield, John Waterhouse born in 1770 in Sheffield, Septimus Waterhouse born 1770. Also Michael Waterhouse, James Waterhouse Elizabeth Waterhouse and Hannah Waterhouse all with birth dates unknown.
This is a very tangled web of intrigue and if there is anyone out there that can shed any light on this great mystery I would be ever so grateful. Look forward to your reply – no matter how small or large. Tanya
