If you are Thomas Coldwell, Commander, US Navy, son of Clarence Buffington Coldwell, I have a formal, sepia-tone, photograph of your grandfather sitting with his brothers, Joseph, Thomas (the lawnmower inventor) and Samuel, my great grandfather.

To answer your specific question: the 11 siblings were:
1. William Coldwell
2. Sarah Coldwell Warwick
3. Thomas Coldwell
4. Ann Coldwell (Terwilliger)
5. Samuel Ardron Coldwell (my great grandfather)
6. Joseph Coldwell
7. Richard Coldwell -lived only 3 months
8. Mary Elizabeth Coldwell died at age one year
9. John Coldwell (your grandfather)
10. George Coldwell died at age 4 mo.
11. Mary Ellen Coldwell (“Aunt Nell” - quite a story there...)

I have very recently inherited my mother’s extensive research about all of these people and their children, and also about the Tompkins and Davenport families on my maternal side.

This is the first time that I have been on this Website, and I am new to this. I am certainly very willing to share, but I find myself hesitant to put everything I have on the net, and would be more comfortable if you would contact me privately, review what I have, and advise me about what is appropriate to release to others who may be researching our branch of the family.

I was surprised to see my mother’s obituary on the bulletin board. Please see Laura Coldwell Keenahan Eadie on this site. I was named for my mother’s Aunt Louise who dropped the “o” in the name, but it is still pronounced the same.

I am fairly sure I am your cousin,

I would love to hear from you! I have a copy of a letter that your father wrote to Aunt Luise when you were going off to OCS at Newport, in 1957 when I was in high school, and I remember hearing about your father and Selah. I note that your inquiry was two years ago and hope so much that you see this, or that someone else who reads these things and has you address will forward it to you.

Luise
