Hi Kathy,
John William Coldiron was b. 17 Sep 1876 in Harlan Co., KY. He died 18 May 1952 in Coldiron, Harlan Co., KY and is buried there, not far from the Coldiron Cemetery in town. John was s/o Jesse W. Coldiron and Elizabeth Saylor.
John first married Sarah L. Osborne on 16 Aug 1899 in Harlan County. Sarah was b. 1 Jun 1881 in KY, the d/o John Levi Osborne and Nancy Howard. Sarah died on 5 Jul 1959 (place unknown) and is buried in the Coldiron Cemetery in Coldiron, Harlan Co., KY. John and Sarah had four children: (1) Lula was b. 1902 in Harlan Co. and married Dewey Blanton in 1917 in Harlan Co. I have two children recorded for them: Archie and Pauline. (2) Grace was b. 27 Feb 1904 in Layman, Harlan Co., KY and married first to Wallace Osborne. Grace and Wallace had children: Roger, Roy, and Lucille. Grace married second to John Sizemore, no children. (3) Elijah was b. 18 Mar 1908 in Harlan Co. He married Carrie Cox and they had seven children: Sarah Jane, Charline, neoma, Graceline, John, James, and Theresa. (4) Maud was b. 1911 in Harlan Co. and married Orville Halcomb. Their children are Christine and Barbara.
John William Coldiron married second to Ollie Spurling on 18 Mar 1926 in Wallins Creek, Harlan Co., KY. I have no children for them. Ollie was b. about 1899 in Georgia.
I have much more information on these families and John's ancestors. I have his ancestors back to the early 1500's in Germany.
