G. W. Colding is my great-great grandfather. My great grandfather is Solon S. Colding, my grandfather is Solon Burke Colding, and my father is Tommy S. Colding. Since I posted my last message, I found out that Michael Colding was born in England and came to South Carolina in the early 1700's. His son was Blanchard. One of Blanchard's sons was Henry (b. 1731). Henry's son was James B (b. 1797). George Walter was James B.'s son.

Do I have that right? I was always asked what kind of a name was Colding and I never really knew. I am interested in where my family came from.
