In your project would you please keep an eye out for the Foote descendants of Margaret Colclough.
Family notes say that the parents of Henry (1809-1900) and John Shearin were Aaron Shearin and Katherine Coakley. However, I believe this is wrong and that they may be sons of Aaron Shearin and Katherine Foote. Katherine's mother was Margaret Colclough. Henry, John and Elizabeth Shearin were orphans of unnamed parents in Warren Co., NC, whose guardian was Henry Foote. Katherine Foote had a brother named Henry. Aaron and Katherine Shearin's marriage bond (1799) was signed by Moses Shearin and leads to the supposition that Aaron was the Aaron, son of Moses Shearin, who is mentioned in his grandfather John's will, and who had a brother Moses. So far this is all speculative and I don't know where to look for clues or verification. I want to nail down the parents of Henry and John. My husband is a descendant of this Henry Shearin and may therefore be a descendant of Margaret Colclough. Thanks.
