Ivan,
In contact with various Colclough researchers over the internet, I learned of the Colclough china. I understand that the Colclough china branch were in England and that the English pronounce the name "Col-Clou" (as in clover).
Benjamin Colclough came from Ireland and from what I understand, the pronounciation is Coke-ly. There were several descendants in my Kelly family named "Coke" (one being my own grandfather). I've also seen the name in some Virginia records spelled Coakly. So, I feel the recorder spelled it as he heard it.
In my internet correspondence with people actually named Colclough, I've always inquired as to how they pronounced their name.

I would like to see some of the china, though. Where did your wife obtain her collectibles?
Nan Harvey
Jackson, MS
