Hi Donna,
About your father Thomas Colclough, the name Thomas follows through all of the Colclough family in Co.Wexford,Ireland since 1560.There is at present a Thomas Colclough of Ballygibbon,Templeuedigan, living on the same farm where his ancestor Thomas lived in 1783 according to the to the Church records of Rathnure,Co Wexford,Thomas of 1783 was
my G.G.G. Grandfather, and there are still 5 Colclough familys living in and around the Wexford area. At the moment I am researching all the Colclough's from the Co.Wexford area.
On the Emigrant Passenger lists to America and Canada in 1819 there is listed a Thomas Colclough with 9 in family and a Patrick Colclough
with 8 in family that left Wexford for Canada. You might begin your to seek a lead on your family by consulting the Census of 1851 in the Dominion Public archives in Ottawa, and the Registration of births, marriages and deaths in Alberta, as the church records extend back to 1617. I hope you will find your family roots, and I am you will have great fun searching for them.
Bernie Colclough
