Sorry, but I am still confused. The following information is what I have on my John Revel Colburn. Some of the information came from me and some from another researcher who is very careful to document everything.

John Revel had 4 brothers that we don't know much about: William T. Coleburn, b. 1792; Spencer Coleburn, b. 1794; James T. Coleburn, b. 1795; George W. Coleburn, b. 1806, d. 1873.

As I have mentioned before, I found 2 Revel Coleburn's in Chatham Co., N Carolina in the 1820 census. I would love to know something about the other Revel. I really hope we can get the mystery solved about John Revel.

7. JOHN REVEL6 COLBURN (REVEL5 COLEBURN, SPENCER4, WILLIAM3 COULBOURN, ROBERT2, WILLIAM1 COULBOURNEI) was born January 21, 1798 in N. Carolina. He married ELIZABETH BARBARA PETTY Abt. 1823 in N. Carolina.

Notes for JOHN REVEL COLBURN:
John Revel Colburn is listed as the first class leader of the New Castle, Indiana, First Methodist Church, 1827. Also in the class were: Revel Colburn, Margaret Colburn (Revel’s wife), Elizabeth Colburn (John Revel’s wife), Mary F Colburn Frances Colburn, Jane Webster. John and Elizabeth moved in the 1840’s to northwest Missouri where he was a pioneer Methodist preacher of the Platt Purchase. Date and place of death unknown. John Revel and Elizabeth were listed in the household of George and Fanny Colburn in the 1870 census.

b. May 1801, d. 15 Nov 1871, Andrew Co., Missouri. Buried in what was once known as the Colburn Cemetery, now the McGlothlin Cemetery. No stone for John Revel Colburn.

16. vii. JOHN F. COLBURN, b. December 26, 1838, Henry Co., Indiana.
17. viii. THOMAS STANFORD COLBURN, b. June 24, 1841, New Castle, Indiana; d. June 29, 1927, Stockton, Rooks Co, Kansas.
18. ix. ELIZABETH COLBURN, b. 1844; m. THOMAS WESLEY MILLER, December 11, 1862, Amelia, Nebraska.
