I am a descendant of John Colborn (frequently spelled Colburn) who was born in New Jersey in 1741 and is buried in an old Methodist cemetery in what is now Tompkins County, New York. At the time of his death, the place he is buried at was in Cayuga County, Genoa Township, but the boundaries were changed shortly after his death on 3 October 1816. I have seen his tombstone and his surname was spelled COLBORN.
His wife Sarah Hooglandt (Hoagland) Colborn died in 1837 and is buried near Lyons, New York, in Wayne County, as well as some of her daughters and their husbands. I have been to this cemetery also.
Their descendants in Wayne County currently spell their name COLBURN, but they are my relatives.

John and Sarah had at least ten children as shown in John's will, but we suspect that there were eleven or twelve chidren. Nancy Colborn Hunt and her husband William Hunt are buried in Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York.
I live about 34 miles from where they are buried, but I have never seen their graves. I am descended from John and Sarah's son, Robert Colborn, born in New Jersey ca 1776-1779, and died in Moreland Township, Lycoming County, PA in 1852. He and his wife Edith are buried in an old abandoned Methodist cemetery, and I have been to their graves. That location is about 100 miles from where I live.
