Erastus b. was a son of Jonathan.Jonathan and his wife Lidia Page had : Roxana 1801, Amos 1805, Nelson 1807, Erastus 1809, and Hovey 1812. When Jonathan returned from the war of 1812, he died in 1814 from an illness contracted during the war (typhoid) and his widow remarried in 1815 to Jabish Dewey and the moved to Mich or Wisc. At that time Nelson was adopted by his father's
brothers, Ellis & Edward and others apparantly raised the other children as a child of the 2nd marriage writes "---He is the only correspondent I have of the Colburn relatives as my Colburn brothers never lived with my father & even some were married before I was born"
