Dear Vicki, Thank you so much for all this history. I need some time to absorb it all, but a brief review tells me this is the right line. My aunt was a DAR and if it proves out, Charles is the soldier in the Revolutionary War. My history (compiled in 1963)shows Caleb and Jane Kemp having a son, Oliver Colburn who married Abbey Eliza Albee in Addison NY Nov. 7, 1866. I found 2 Census records : 1850 Warren County, NY p.12b. mentions Caleb Colborn [note spelling} age 51, Jane age 48 and Oliver 12. Ten years later in the 1860 census Addison, Steuben County, ny pgs 679-680 they appear again with the spelling Colburn. Ages are appropriate except for Jane who is now 56. I really believe they are one and the same. Oliver was my grandfathers son, Delbert Otis Colburn dob 8/18/1867. Delbert also had a brother Willis CALEB and a sister Lucy JANE, perhaps just a coincidence. Do you think this is a match? Perhaps you can give me your phone number and I will call you. Mine is 315-889-5413. I think you've made my day. Many many thanks Pris Notify Administrator about this message?
