I believe our family also emigrated into Nova scotia from Waterford, Ireland. Don't have any dates (drat) or wives names (double drat) but the predominant family name was supposed to be Robert Arnold Colbert. The name given to the eldest son. Grandad was R A Colbert II.We can only assume his dad was numero uno; but then he may not have been. Aside from all of that we have no female names. Grandad was born in Montreal Que. and at some point moved into NY and then later west to Iowa whre he married and begot Robert Arnold III. The following children were born before he abandoned the family; Donald LeRoy Colbert, Shirley, Cleo and Raymond. Raymond was a baby when grandad took a powder. think there could be a connection
