My paternal great-grandfather was George Colbert. We don't know where he was from, but by the time my grandfather, William George Colbert was born, they lived in Alton Illinois. Our family tree on our father's side ends with George, for some reason, my Grandfather never talked about his family. I hope this helps. Please tell me a little about your Colberts. We have a few family stories, maybe they match up.
