COLBERT's of German Origin - 1800's????

My COLBERT's are from Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia, beginning at least early 1800's maybe sooner, and census say they are of German Origin.

Some of the family did move to Checopee(?) and Newton Center, Mass., U.S., in the late 1800's but returned to NS shortly after.

Anyone have any dealings with COLBERT's of German Origin and from N.S.?
