James M Colbert wasn't too far off base...as (1)Colbert Co, Al in the extreme NW corner of Al was named for the Colbert family (2) Chief William James (Choosehemataha)Colbert, Sr was awarded the honorary title of Maj Gen by Gen Geo Washington and given a ceremonial sword for his assistance during the RW. He (and his Chickasaw followers) fought in the War of 1812 under Gen Andrew Jackson and also in Jackson's campaign against the Seminole, as well as in several other minor campaigns.

His favorite wife seems to have been Jacsie Moniac, a daughter of Chief Piomingo and Molle-tulla (Molly), as Jacsie was the wife he chose to accompany him on a trip to Washington DC (the Chickasaw were polygamous).
