JOHN COLBERT BURIED

Funeral services for John Colbert were held from the Christian Church at Neoga Monday afternoon at 2:40 o'clock. Rev. D. M. Durham was in charge and interment was made in the Neoga Cemetery. Mr. Colbert passed away at his home in Neoga Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock.

John Colbert was born in Indiana and came to Illinois when he was but a young man. Some time after he came to Illinois he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Crookshank of Neoga. Three children were born to the second union, all of whom are dead. His second wife also is dead, having passed away in July of 1921.

To the first union the following children were born: Elmer Colbert, living in Kansas; Owen Colbert, Neoga; Mrs. Morgan Storm, Mattoon; Mrs. Dora Curry and Mrs. Daisy Smith, both of Nebraska. Mr. Colbert was a Civil War veteran and a member of the 136th Illinois infantry and at the time of his death was commander of the T. A. Apperson Post of the G. A. R. at Neoga.
