HARDIN CO. PAST & PRESENT BOOK

I, like many of you have been looking for "Hardin Co. Past & Present". I have been on the wait list for at least 3 years. So today I wrote to Turner Publishing to get some idea of what the deal is. Below is the response. It seems like every so often we have posts about some one looking for this book. How hard would it be to get 100 interested parties?

I would maybe even order a couple extra for gifts or to hold on to for some future Hardin Co. researcher.

I find it no surprise that Hardin, Pope & Gallatin Co. Books by Turner publishing are sold out. I think southeast Illinois has it's fair share of genealogy nuts!

IF ANY ONE IS INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT TURNER PUBLISHING.

Here is their response:

Dear Sir,

We appreciate your enthusiasm for this book. However, we have only had a couple of people request to be put on the back order list for this title. To make a print run of a title we usually need somewhere around 100 commitments.

The title was originally published in 1988. Most likely a new updated edition would be published rather than a reprint of the old title. If you have any contact with a historical or genealogical society in that area who would be interested in this process, please have them get in touch with us.

If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you,
