colbert moves on

For over 20 years, I have worked by the help of God to find out about my Colbert ancestry. I am extremely proud to be a Colbert regardless of what I may find. I recently proved that my Gr-gr-great grandfather was named George Colbert
from Va yet was a slave alos in Webster County Ga to the
Sims or the Bells families. His body was buried in Bell Cemetery a slave area gravesite given to us by the slaveowners at Friendship Baptist curch in Plains.
These are a list of my stumbling blocks.

1. White people are ashamed and are not sharing vital slave info with African American side.
2. Not saved records- photos, birth or death records, letters, etc
3. Family losing vital info

Regardless of the trouble it has caused me, I press on because I have to find out more. This research means so much to me. Help me if you can.

thanbk you,
Gordon
