I am also a Colbert. My father did not raise me so I unfortunatly don't know anything about his family. I do believe he is possibly
French/Canadian/Indian decent.His name is James Dewey Colbert. He lives in Arkansas near Conway/Morrillton area. He is approx 86 years old. He had one brother that I know of. I believe he lived in St. Louis. Sorry I can't help you as far as info about France. But I have a feeling some of my fathers relatives came from France.
