Haven't been on this site for a while
I was born Ayr Scotlandbut my father Tonino Coia was born Lanark 1910
His father was known as Andrew Coia and had amongst other things the fish'n'chip shop at the Cross
He amrried a Verriecchia
The only Coias I knew of in Lanark were all direct family Frank Joan Emily The only Sandra I knew realeted to me was a Sandra Shanks Jack her dad married Dad's sister
Anyway I have been to Filignano twice now and am going again in four weeks
It is simply brilliant being there but sadly this could be last time at least for a while it is along way and quite expensive from New Zealand
Where in Aus are you? My toungest son is in the Gold Coast
I can recall going to the Lanark Lanimers Uncle Frank had the Cafe upat the Square top of the hill
Purcellis wwas started by Johnny Purcelli who I reckon sponsored by Grandad Coia and worked in the shop
Last year I bumped into Mario Purcelli who lives in lanark. in Filignano
