Hi Bob, There are a bunch of us Coia's here in Australia. My Dad is the youngest of five that came over during the 50's. His parents, my Grandparents have both since passed away but lived their whole life in Tocco Casauria. Their little family home is still there! My Dad's name is Quintino, he came to Australia in about 1956 when he was 16 years old. He wil be 70 this year on the 10th of September. The oldest brother was Pasquale came out first, (since passed away) but his two children are here, my first cousins, Connie and Robert. His Sister Lucia has also passed, but her son Frank is here, Sister Lina (children Antionette and Maurice) and Brother Gustino (children Rita and Ross) are still living here in Australia also. I have been to Tocco and it is a very small villiage so the chance of being related is very high. I have a vague memory of my father speaking to his Aunt in the US over the phone from time to time years ago but can't remember her name. I will ask him for more details and post you another message. I just came across this site by accident, playing around on the internet and entering "Coia" into "google" just to see what would come up. I go by my married name "Esplan" (hence the name on my email address) although divorced for quite some time now, just never got around to changing it back. I am lucky enough though to have dual citizenship so have an Italian passport in the name of Coia and an Australian passport under Esplan. Notify Administrator about this message?
