I don't really know much about Angelo Coia. The family is so large that i sometimes get confused how I am actually related to everyone and what generation they are apart of. i believe Angelo was my Grandmother's Grandfather (if that makes sense), I have only heard him referred to as Papa Coia. He may have been the one who first started DiBerardino's Bakery in Rome. When my gram's mother married a DiBerardino the bakery was given as a wedding gift (I think). Then eventually my Gram's brother (Louie) took it over when their father passed (I only know him as Grandpa D). Eventually after Uncle Louie passed away, his children took it over and it finally closed last Thanksgiving. You may want to ask your husband's gram about my gram's Aunt Sarah. Her married name is Spadafora, but her maiden name is Coia (I believe she is Angelo's daughter). She is another one who will out live us all (I think she is 88, and still can run laps around me in Atlantic City). I will see my Gram tomorrow and I can ask her if any of the names sound familiar (her name is Angeline (DiBerardino) Pasqualetti). Her and Aunt Sarah are both in Rome still. It's really interesting reading all of these last names, when I was in high-school I didn't want to date any Italian boys because I thought I could be related to them. Now I realize the possibility was greater than I thought:) Hope to hear from you. You can e-mail me directly at refinneg@syr.edu Robin
