Hi Carol!
It has been ages since I had last checked this site for replies...probably because I had thought that I would never get one. Anyhow, my paternal grandfather did infact have sibblings (both brothers and sisters, to my knowledge). I was almost 5 by the time my grandfather past away. I know that one of his sisters married a Kriegsman. It was my grandfather's father that came from Bialystok, Russia ( Bialystok is now a part of Poland). I believe Max (my g-grandfather) was born in 1869 or close to that time. My grandfather, Robert, had changed his last name from Cohn to Colin, although I'm not sure when. Max's wife, Fannie/Fanny was also from the same town in Russia. Anyhow, my grandfather Robert's sister (I don't know her name) who had married a Kriegsman had at least one son, Mortimer (he goes by the name Mike, but is actually known as Alan M. Kriegsman. Alan was also a writter for the Washington Post newspaper as a Dance Critic).
If I find anything else out I'll be sure to let you know. I have been wracking my brain over this genealogy research for years now regarding this particular side of my family. Also, Carol, feel free to e-mail me at any time...who knows, its a small world!
Melissa
