In looking at this, we have since found a lot of new information. Jemima was a Cohen, never married. All children, Thomas Jefferson, Lawrence, Elezene, John, and one other, were born out of wedlock. Jemima's brother was Thomas Cohen, in Union County, SC from 1820 through 1870. Thomas J. stayed in Pickens County, Alabama. According to Ella Jane Cohen's obit, wife of Lawrence, they moved to Pickens, too, but relocated to Chambers County, Alabama later. The parents of Jemima was Joseph and Rachel, on the 1790 and 1800 Union County, SC census. Hope this helps other researchers.
