The Winter/Spring 2009 issue of Antiques and Fine Art magazine on p. 41 pictures a fine miniature portrait c. 1818 of (possibly) Mendes I. Cohen in an army officer uniform.
I am scanning this portrait in case any of the descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the Cohen family ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the family. It may not have a lot of genealogical value, but it certainly does have a great deal of family and artistic value.
