Sorry I'm so slow answering; lost this site...
Your ggrandmother may be the same as mine; the birth date sounds right! I don't know where my grandmother was born, all I know is she married Mark Jacobs, from an "old English" Jewish family and lived in Whitechapel. They had 3 children, George, Catherine (Kate), and Johnny Cole. Catherine was my grandmother. George had one daughter, Kay and Catherine married Mark Isaacs and had my mother Esther and her brother William. Johnny was killed in WWI unmarried.
The family is Sephardic with Portuguese origins. Does any of this fit? I hope you turn out to be a long lost cousin!!
