Married Esther Magnus, natives of Germany 1820's, possibly the Hamberg area. Known one son Magnus J. Cohen born December 22, 1844.
Magnus came to America in 1857. He was only twelve at that time. We don't know if he came alone or with someone. We know he attended the common schools of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Later was a member of Company A 27th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Name spelling was changed to Cohn
