Cohee Family Genealogy Forum

I am trying to connect my Cohee's to the Delaware Cohee's and am not having much luck. I descend from William Cohee and Nancy Slaughter. A lot of the information I have found online states that William's year of birth was 1800, however according to the 1850 census he gives his age as 53 and birthplace as Delaware. Since the census date for the 1850 census was June 1, this would indicate that William Cohee was born in 1797 instead of 1800. William married his first wife, Lydia Slaughter, 3 Oct 1822 in Kent County, Delaware. Lydia passed away five days after their daughter, Mary Anne was born. He then married Nancy Slaughter, but I have been unable to find a marriage record for them. William and Nancy's first child was a girl, Rachel. She was born in August 1827 and died in September of the same year, she is buried in Delaware. William and his family migrated from Delaware to Pennsylvania on to Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. According to what I have read, he remained in Missouri only for a couple days before returning to Illinois and settling in Menard County. William Cohee died on 17 Mar 1852 in Menard County.
His daughter Mary Anne married and for a while resided in Kane County, Illinois. There is one Evalin Cohee living in the household of Mary Anne and her family in the 1860 census in Kane County. Evalin Cohee's age is listed as 27 and birthplace is listed as Delaware. However, I do not know who this Evalin Cohee is because she did not belong to William and Nancy. This leads me to believe that she is probably a cousin. Does anyone have information on who Evalin Cohee is?
Does anyone know who my William Cohee's parents could be? I found an IGI record that states his father's name was James, but have been unable to find any evidence to support this. Also, according to the book "The Past and Present of Menard County, Illinois" William Cohee had one sister, Sarah, and three half brothers, John Gooden, Levi Lee and Richard Bishop. John Gooden and Levi Lee I have found in Menard County, but have been unable to find Richard Bishop or Sarah Cohee. I believe that Richard Bishop is actually Richard Bishop Cohee. There was a Richard Cohee/Cohea located in the Effingham, Illinois area during the same time frame. Could it be possible that Richard Cohee/Cohea is the brother of my William Cohee? I would appreciate if anyone could offer any input on these questions as I have hit a brickwall with this line.
