Francis Coghill married Margaret Steven in St Ann's Soho 1815. There was a Coghill family in London around the late 1700s including an Alexander and a Jane as I found there marriage records. There were several Francis Coghills born around Wick / Olrig in the late 1790s but I don't think the London Francis was one of them. A couple by the same name had a son in Ayr Scotland in 1817, a daughter Margaret in Edinburgh 1819 and 6 more children in Glasgow. Francis and several children are listed in the 1841 census but not Margaret. I think he was a china merchant. Any ideas on where he came from / went to.
