Coggan, Cogan, Coggin, Coggins

Does anyone know if Coggins/Coggin actually orginated from coggan/cogan/de cogan?? I've seen all of these, and I'm not sure if it's all the same. The coggan/cogan/de cogan I found came from Chard/Somerset/Cogan, England. Not sure if and why spelling changed??
