You seem to have verifiable information on some of the Cogers, also spelled Koger.
In History of Henry County Virginia (Judith Parks America Hill - my great Aunt) she gives names of 4 brothers coming to America in the 1700's.Jacob, Nicholas, Joseph and Peter.
She knew the Koger family in Henry County, some of the descendants still living there outside of Martinsville - in Preston.
According to her, Jacob, b. about 1715, had several children, Michael, Henry (born in 1742), Peter, Nicholas, JOseph and Mary. Jacob was married to Lucinda Crum(b).He first lived in Pennsyvania, then Augusta Co, VA and finally outside of Martinsville in Henry Co.
His son Jacob was in the American Revolution and also Peter.
Henry Koger married Mary King and had 10 children. One, Henry Jr. born in 1790, also had a large family.A daughter, Mary married A. H. Bassett.Daughter Katie (Catharine) married James Baker. Their daughter, Lucinda married Thomas Lodawick Craghead (my grandfather) who died in Civil War.
If this seems to fit with your family, it may be interesting for you to see the book. It is in various libraries, including Seventh Day Adventist library in Utah.
I could also send copie of the Koger pages at a later date. If you e-mail me at [email protected] I'll be more likely to get your message, as I don't check genforum regularly.
