Emma Shuman was William Madison Cofield's second wife, she was only mother to William Madison Jr. born 7 Sep 1900 and Lucy b. abt 1904. He was married at least once before maybe twice. All children before 1900 were to previous marriages.

She married first to Anson Pinkney "Pink" Shuman and had 3 children Nyle Vernon Shuman b. 24 Apr 1886, Bonnie Erin Shuman b. 9 Jul 1891, and Anson Pink Shuman b. 30 Sep 1895. Her husband Anson died and then she married William Cofield.
He had one daughter named Mary Maud Cofield born 22 Dec 1888 and died 19 Dec 1922 buried at Bogota, TX, was married to a man last name Reece, her death cert lists her mother's name as Elizabeth
