Headed to North Carolina - Open Letter, and to David or Danny Cofield

Hello,

I am descended of Gresham the elder, and I have traced him back to his arrival at Virginia, aboard the Bristol indentured servant ship, "Tristram and Jane," though I now have reason to believe that there was, in fact, no Gresham the middle, and that subsequently, Gresham Sr and Jr are the same person. The fact that he bought land almost immediately upon his arrival at Virginia in 1638 has lead me to believe that he may not have been indentured, or that he had some other means of capital prior to shipping from Bristol in the spring of 1637. Ergo:

I am going to Isle of Wight and all points beyond where the Coffields migrated, Virginia, North Carolina, Troup Co. Georgia, and then to Alabama.

If there is anyone who would like me to look up records during my trip, tentatively set for April 9th - end of April, I would be happy to try and accommodate you.

Also, I would like to meet any person, or any race, whose family is akin to mine.

Please write to me directly at zanecofield@hotmail.com

Sincerely,

Dr. Zane Cofield
