I do believe, once again, we are back to our Origional Question!!! IF Rachel was b in Lewis Co, as late as 1836 (16 at marriage) or as early as 1820 (32 at marriage) then she HAD to be a child of one of John's kids/grandkids. Thomas and Nancy's known children were born in that time range and there are 5 yrs between Nicholas and Ruhanna, but then why isn't she mentioned in that 4430 lawsuit that names the other children?

Umm. There seems to be no break in Elias's children, unless Rachel was the oldest and snuck in before James W. I guess there is room for an early baby in 1835.

On William's side, there is a possibility in Benjamin & Jane whose known children are born in that range, and Richard had a child in 1830 1-5 yrs old male, so between then and 1838 when Richard is deceased, and Wm Aills is heir -at-law, there is room for another child...

?? If she was a Lewis Co Aills marrying in Scioto Co (BTW which is where was Benj's Jane was in 1840?) Where was Rachel in 1850? Not in Cabell Co with Jane.

There is an item of interest in the lawsuit Jane Aills vs Polly and Betsy Aills, April 1838, #2125. one of the witnesses called was Plummer Thomas.

Let it be a challenge to us?
