"To the worshipful Justices of the Orphan's court, in and for the county of Somerset, to be held(?) at Somerset on the 3rd Monday of December instant(?).
The petition of Conrad Caufman, Jr., one of the minor children of Conrad Caufman late of the county aforesaid, deceased, which said Conrad, your petitioner is above the age of fourteen years . . .(humbly thought that he hath under the privilege given to him by the Act of Assembly in such case made, nominated his friend and brother Jacob Caufman to be guardian of his person and estate; he therefore prays your Worship to confirm the said appointment and that it may be so recorded and your petition as in duty bound will Judge.

I am looking for the parents of Adam Coffman born July 1, 1771 in Pennsylvania.He married first Cinnia Miller Feb 5, 1792 (by Jacob Miller, J.P.) February 05, 1792 in Berlin, Brothersvalley Twp., Somerset Co., Pennsylvania; and second Elizabeth Gardner April 11, 1797 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
According to the "History of Belmont & Jefferson Counties, Ohio (1880):1789-1806 Adam COFFMAN, early settler, Richland Twp, Belmont Co., Ohio.His family later settled in Jackson, JOhnson, Brown, and Bartholomew Counties in Indiana where many of his descendants still reside.
